Humber Doucy is Coming to Stowmarket, and We're Bringing the Bar
There are not many better ways to spend an August weekend than in a car park in Stowmarket 😉 Bear with us on that one.
On Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd August 2026, we are taking over the car park at Squab Storage on Atex Business Park, Gun Cotton Way, Stowmarket, IP14 5XE, for two days of local beer, local spirits, street food, and the kind of relaxed summer atmosphere that Suffolk does better than anywhere.
Swing by whenever you’re passing, even if your big adventure was just a run to Tesco’s!
It is free to attend. It is open to the public. And yes, dogs are very welcome.
What is a Car Park Takeover?
Think of it as a mini beer festival, but without the wristbands, the muddy fields, or the warm lager in a plastic cup. We roll up with our bar, gazebos, tables and the full Humber Doucy range, set up in the car park, and spend the weekend doing what we love most: pouring good beer for good people.
Alongside our own brews, we offer a carefully selected range of local spirits, all paired with street food from local producers. Everything you need for a great afternoon, in one spot.
What's Pouring?
The full Humber Doucy range will be on tap throughout the weekend. We're especially excited to be pouring Squab Golden Ale. It's a balanced, easy-drinking beer with noble hop aromas and a satisfyingly bitter finish.
Three more reasons to arrive arrive early are:
Friday Street, our Hazy Summer Ale, was brewed for weekends just like this. Packed with Simcoe and Amarillo hops, it delivers bright passion fruit and citrus flavours in a light, refreshing beer. Named after the Suffolk hamlet on the road to Aldeburgh, it tastes just like a Suffolk summer. It also picked up Gold at the 2024 SIBA Regional Awards, if you needed another reason to try it.
Hedgerow, our Nettle and Elderflower Saison, is crisp, floral and inspired by the Suffolk countryside it's named after. Brewed in collaboration with The Food Museum in Stowmarket, it was awarded Bronze at the 2022 SIBA Regional Awards, making it an especially fitting beer to enjoy while we're back in town.
Introducing Peach Tea Pale Ale an exciting limited edition that's fantastic with fish and chips, although the street food on offer this weekend will be just as good a match.
Every beer is vegan friendly and brewed just down the road in Bacton.
The Food
Every good bar deserves good food. We will have street food on both days. Keep an eye on our social media channels for the full line-up as the date approaches.
Do You Run Events?
The Squab Storage Car Park Takeover is a great example of what we do for event organisers across Suffolk and beyond. We bring everything: the bar, the gazebos, the tables, the drinks, and the expertise to make it work. You bring the people and the atmosphere.
Whether you are planning a corporate summer party, a community event, a festival, or something else entirely, we can build a bar around it. Local beer and spirits, served properly, with the kind of care that reflects well on everyone involved.
If you are an event organiser and want to discuss what Humber Doucy could bring to your next event, get in touch with John or Alan.
See you in the car park. ☀️ Friday 21 August 4-10 pm, and Saturday 22 August 12 – 10 pm.
