John and Alan, a father and son team, believe there is
nothing better than the combination of Suffolk and beer. Humber Doucy Brewing
Company combines the two beautifully.

You are welcome to visit the brewery, nestled among the
wheat and barley fields of Bacton. The perfect location to create traditional
Suffolk bitter, session ales and seasonal brews.

Tradition, Passion and Innovation

We pride ourselves on combining tradition with innovation,
mixed up with our passion – passion for beer, Suffolk and our brewery.

Our name is inspired by a road in our county town Ipswich, said
to have been named by French prisoners of war in the 1800s.  We are based in the “Old Jeffries
Garage”  in Bacton where we have
repurposed an MOT garage from the 1950s to create our brewery.

Alan worked at Muntons Maltings for over 40 years – and as
you can hear on our video, still can’t shake the Yorkshire accent! John, born
and bred in Suffolk, is an experienced brewer, who loves experimenting and
mixing up the botanicals and develop new brews.

Humber Doucy is all about Suffolk. John and Alan’s
love of Suffolk is reflected in the inspiration for the beer’s names and the
name of the brewery itself. Taken from a street in Ipswich, and reflecting the
nature of Humber Doucy beers – meandering, relaxing and just a little bit
shady.

using locally malted barley. Being located in one of the best barley-growing
regions in the world, and surrounded by fields of the good stuff, why wouldn’t
we?

Humber Doucy is all about you. We love going that
extra mile for our customers. From our free local deliveries to making sure we
are stocked in local village stores, farm shops and pubs.  We provide tours of our brewery, with
tastings – and can even arrange to collect you from our local train station to
make it a more relaxing visit for you. 
We offer room hire where you can add a brewery tour and tasting
to impress your guests, and can provide bespoke bottles for your events.
